THE MONTESSORI CURRICULUM
The Montessori Method of Teaching is based on encouraging and developing the child's interest and independence through a wide range of exercises using specific materials working individually or in group. Subjects are integrated and child centred, giving children the best opportunities to develop effectively their knowledge and understanding of the world. Emphasis is also placed on introducing children to the Six Areas of the Early Years Curriculum. The basic tenet of the method is 'Freedom within a structured environment'
AIMS
“Everything we do is geared to the enjoyment of learning.”
The first years of life have a great influence on a child's mind and character, thus the aim of the School is to encourage the child to have a desire to discover, learn and gain independence .We believe praise and encouragement are the foundations for building their self-esteem and confidence. Discipline is important in a child's life and we do approach this with love and firmness, encouraging them to make the right choices and to live within the boundaries set for them.
THE ROLE OF A PARENT
We welcome the involvement and support of parents within the Nursery and we are keen to foster a good and happy relationship between the school and home environment at all times.
